As a next-gen connected team, NTT Pro Cycling uses Rainbow from Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise to collaborate before, during and after races
With up to three races happening simultaneously across the globe, a cycling team is constantly on the move, during races and while travelling worldwide. For them, connectivity is essential.
NTT Pro Cycling and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise have been partnering since 2019, with ALE delivering collaboration, asset tracking and Wi-Fi coverage to the team.
When does NTT Pro Cycling need a collaboration tool and how does ALE support this critical requirement?
Before the race
Even when they are not riding, riders need to stay connected to prepare for races. A cycling team is made up of various experts: performance managers, sport directors, doctors, soigneurs and paramedical assistants, mechanics, drivers, marketers, etc. These varied individuals need to communicate somehow. Thanks to Rainbow from Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, all these professionals can exchange freely together, creating as many group conversations (bubbles in Rainbow) as they need, discuss one-to-one, video-conference (one-to-one or in groups), share files, etc. And all of this takes place in a secure cloud-based environment.
During the race
When riders are on their bikes, focused on their performance, the entire team around them needs to be fully connected to provide the best team support possible: tracking riders’ progress, dispensing medical aid as quickly as possible, fixing mechanical issues, delivering live media coverage, and more. For this, they need a powerful real-time collaboration platform and great Wi-Fi coverage, wherever they are in the world. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise delivers on these promises with an optimised user experience and seamless connectivity in a safe environment.
During the Virtual Tour de France, which the NTT Pro Cycling team won, the team was constantly connected via Rainbow to follow the team’s progress. Watch the team in action in the video below:
After the race
When the race is over, it’s time for the team to regroup and debrief: review performance, analyse the data, and see how they can improve for the next races. For this, they can count on Rainbow to share files and organise meetings with the whole team.
