- Within the framework of the Barbara IoT Partner Program, Alcatel Lucent Enterprise (ALE) has become a key technology partner. The alliance aims to identify product synergies to provide greater value to customers.
- The Barbara IoT and ALE alliance enables the integration of the Alcatel-Lucent RainbowTM and Barbara software to improve the customer experience in the management of Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
Barbara IoT software integrates with Rainbow, ALE’s cloud communication platform to offer better IoT solutions, providing greater value to customers
Madrid, March 26, 2019.- Barbara IoT, the manufacturer of secure software for the management of IoT devices, and ALE, the enterprise communications solutions provider, have signed a collaboration agreement to offer better IoT solutions through their complementary offerings.
This new partnership represents a breakthrough in disruptive solutions. For Barbara IoT, ALE is a key technology partner for platforms integrating with Barbara software to deliver improved IoT solutions to the market with cognitive communications (ie. communications that use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to adapt to human behaviors, like voice recognition).
"We are very proud to see that young companies with a clear vision of the joint value of IoT and communications and cognitive networks can develop business applications with Rainbow. This adds value to companies’ business processes and improves the experience of their professionals as well as the ecosystems of their customers and collaborators", said Marcos Sánchez, ALE’s Channel Director for Spain.
Both companies have worked together to fully integrate the Barbara IoT software and the Rainbow real-time collaboration application. Rainbow is a cloud-based, enterprise-grade, Unified Communication as a Service (UCaaS) and Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) that connects people and systems.
"Through the integration of technologies such as IoT and AI, ALE and Barbara IoT bring intelligence to the extreme, allowing edge computing architectures in business processes or citizen services, which can be managed directly from the Rainbow CPaaS platform. Both technologies allow users to interact with machines in real time in a secure and simple way, taking advantage of existing infrastructures without the need for large investments and allowing a scalable solution for other applications", said Ceferino Agüeros, Sales VP at Barbara IoT.
The integration was tested with clients in one of Esema Energía’s photovoltaic parks. In a first phase, Barbara's software allowed the electrical installation maintenance and service company to collect and monitor the power generation data remotely and safely, something that until now had been done manually.
In the second phase, the Barbara IoT development team worked with ALE to allow reports and energy alerts to be managed from Rainbow using information collected in real time from Esema’s control devices, while also providing unified communications functionalities. In this way, the user experience is facilitated, bringing together common means of communication between users (instant messaging, group messages, etc.) to the IoT world for communication and interaction with machines. In addition, the Rainbow features allow these calls or alerts to reach operators on different devices such as PC or mobile.
The partnership between Barbara and ALE will continue to evolve as future Rainbow functionalities are integrated to continually provide improved value to customers.
