ALE recognized for innovative project at the Hacking Health Camp 2019
ALE, operating under the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand, is proud to announce the ALE project – My Health Path, which involved ALE participants and technologies – was awarded by Group Vyv at the Hacking Health Camp. This event, including the largest European hackathon on healthcare, took place on March 22-25 in Strasbourg, France. Gathering more than 400 participants in Healthcare and IT, such as patients, medical staff, developers, designers, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, the Hacking Health Camp goal is to break down the barriers of innovation in healthcare.
ALE recognized player in the hospital’s digital transformation
ALE sponsored the event for the third consecutive year, as this is the place where its digital innovation capabilities can be leveraged for better patient care, caregiver skills and healthcare, one of the key strategic markets of ALE. The Hacking Health Camp represents a unique opportunity for ALE teams to engage and validate use cases with health professionals and accelerate innovation skills, which is essential for creating relevant healthcare sector solutions.
The co-construction of relevant and sustainable digital solutions for patients, caregivers and hospitals requires innovative, efficient, robust and secure connectivity. And connecting people, machines and processes is ALE’s core activity. Participating and supporting the Hacking Health Camp enables digital health transformation leaders, such as ALE, to accelerate the delivery of useful and enriched applications to the market.
The APIs of the Alcatel-Lucent RainbowTM relationship machine were made available to developers to create applications implementing communication, collaboration and chatbot capabilities, as well as Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess® Stellar Location-Based Services (LBS) for integrating indoor geolocation services.
As a continuation of its commitment and to encourage innovative projects, ALE awarded a prize to the Phot-Hop project.
My Health Path, an innovative app optimizing the patient care pathway
Inventing the future of healthcare involves the ability to brew talents and knowledge. Participating in this hackathon forges close bonds between individuals being at the heart of a creative energy bubble. Twelve ALE employees brought their passion, energy and know-how to make ideas become a reality.
As a result, the project My Health Path involving ALE participants and technologies, developed during the 2-day hackathon, won a prize given by Groupe Vyv. This iOS app helps optimize the patient care pathway and hospital experience. It provides patients with appointment reminder services based on Rainbow, coupled with indoor geolocation to find their way through hospital buildings with OmniAccess Stellar LBS.
My Health Path is a perfect illustration of how ALE can support healthcare providers in their transformation towards the digital hospital of the future.

“I will remind the energizing atmosphere and the sharing mindset. We had a surgeon in the team and this has totally opened up our technical perspectives and made us leave our developers’ daily life behind.”
