ALE has teamed up with BMW to become the official Connectivity Partner for the 30th anniversary of the BMW International Open, the longest-running European Tour event in Germany beginning in 1989. It is also the 3rd consecutive year ALE will be responsible for implementing the entire network and communication infrastructure for this event, which runs from June 20 to 24 at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof, Cologne, Germany.
Germany's premier golf tournament and one of the highlights of the European golfing calendar, the BMW International Open, attracts some of the game's greatest stars and over 65,000 sports fans each year. This year, organizers, partners, VIPs, and journalists from around the world, along with the thousands of visitors can stay connected throughout the tournament via secure high-speed internet access both on and off the course.
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solutions will ensure a personalized connected visitor experience via a full local area network (LAN), wireless LAN, and IP telephony communications platform (including DECT phones) for the event organizers and the world's media. Seamless connectivity can also be accessed from the club house, public areas, and the course grandstands.
