Emergency communications provider Blickle & Scherer adopts ALE cloud-based Rainbow UC solution.
ALE, operating under the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand, today announced that German emergency communications provider Blickle & Scherer has selected Alcatel-Lucent Rainbow™ as its dedicated Unified Communications (UC) platform to streamline workload across teams. Blickle & Scherer supplies private mobile radio communications for public emergency and rescue services, linking mission control centers, command vehicles and on-site emergency personnel. The cloud-based solution meets its stringent security and data protection requirements while providing fast and easy access to a full suite of collaboration functions including chat, presence management and document sharing.
Rainbow supports both freemium and enterprise licenses, which removes the need for further capital investment and makes onboarding new users easy, flexible and cost-efficient. Rainbow provides essential collaboration functions free of charge, such as instant messaging, drag and drop file transfer, audio and video calls, screen sharing, click-to-call and call logs. All users at Blickle & Scherer benefit from the "Rainbow Free Service" and certain users also have access to "Rainbow Enterprise", which offers a larger range of functions such as advanced PBX call control and calendar integration for a monthly fee per user.
Peter Sandner, Blickle & Weda, a Blickle & Scherer subsidiary
“Integrating the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise UC platform means a considerable workload reduction across multiple teams. Before Rainbow, communication between sites was limited to phone calls and sending documents via email. Today, multi-site teams work together using video calls and instant messaging. Younger employees in particular appreciate that we offer them the same advanced forms of communication they take for granted in their private lives.”
Alexandra Biebel, Head of Marketing & Communications, ALE
“As one of Germany's largest emergency communications provider, Blickle & Scherer work primarily with public authorities, which means its employees must comply with strict security standards set by the Ministry of the Interior of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. Rainbow meets these standards and ensures security is maintained as the company scales the solution to support future growth plans."
