Host and Moderator Controls in Rainbow Office Video

This article provides information on meeting controls available to the Host / Moderators during a Rainbow Office Video (ROV) meeting.

The following buttons are available to the Host and Moderator during a meeting:

 Control Function 



Mute / Unmute microphone

 

Mutes / unmutes the microphone. Click the options popup menu to configure your audio devices and switch to telephone audio.
 

Turn on / Turn off camera

Turns the camera on / off. Click the options button to change your camera device.

 

Share your screen

Shares your screen with other participants in the meeting.

Invite

Allows you to invite others to the meeting. The invitation can be sent by phone, email, or by copying the meeting link.

Show / Hide participants

Allows you to view the participants and manage their controls during the meeting. Click the button to show or hide the Participants tab.

Open / Close chat

Allows you to send a message to all the participants or to an individual during the meeting. Click the button to open or close the Chat tab.

 

Record meeting

Allows the Host / Moderator to record the meeting. One the recording has started, the Host / Moderator can click the same button to pause the recording. See the following for more information:

Pause recording

Once the meeting recording has been started, the Host / Moderator can click the button to pause the recording.

  

Settings and feedback

Allows you to configure Rainbow Office Video's settings based on your preference. It also lets you report a problem or give other feedback.

 

Leave meeting

Let’s you leave the meeting or end the meeting.

 

Full screen

Let’s you switch to the full screen view.

 

Back to window

Let’s you get out of the full screen view. You can also press the Esc button on your keyboard to get out of the full screen view.

Host / Moderator Controls - Manage Participants

A separate window launches when the Host / Moderator clicks the Participants button. If pinned, the Participants pane appears on the right side of the meeting window. On the Participants section, the Host / Moderator can:

Search - find specific Participants in the meeting.

Prevent new users from joining the meeting

Mute microphone for all current and new attendees - opens a popup menu where you can allow or prevent participants from unmuting themselves during the meeting.

Request all Participants to unmute their microphones - triggers a popup menu on all participants' meeting windows where they can allow the Host / Moderator to unmute themselves during the meeting.

Mute / unmute his/her microphone

Turn on / off his/her camera

On the list of participants, the Host / Moderator can hover on the More (3 vertical dots) button next to a participant's name. This will enable the Host / Moderator to:

Assign a participant as a moderator - gives the participant the same controls like those of the Host's.

Revoke a participant's moderator privilege 

Hang-up - disconnects the participant from the meeting.

Request to turn on audio - triggers a popup menu on the selected participant's meeting window where he/she can allow the Host / Moderator to unmute his/her microphone.

Mute a participant's microphone

Request to turn on/off camera - triggers a popup menu on the selected participant's meeting window where he/she can allow the Host / Moderator to turn on his/her camera.

Turn off a participant's camera

To exit from the Participants tab, click the Hide participants button, or click the Close button.
