Volksbank Region Leonberg goes all IP with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise technology as part of business-wide communications review

ALE, operating under the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand, today announced the successful IP conversion and communications modernization of Volksbank Region Leonberg, a leading German cooperative bank. The bank’s 160 employees now benefit from full IP-based communications and a new range of user functionalities including high quality audio and improved mobility. The project was designed and completed by long-standing ALE business partner, COM plan + service GmbH.

Serving over 41,000 customers across the region, Volksbank Region Leonberg has completed a full all-IP conversion ahead of completion of the public telephone network migration. The highly flexible OmniPCX® Enterprise Communication Server has been deployed to support analog, digital and IP communications at 13 branches and offices to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption.

The IP-based solution is controlled by the Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista® 8770 Network Management System which offers full network visibility and comprehensive management functionalities, including easily onboarding new users. The bank plans to expand the communications solution further by rolling out voice recording functionality with the OmniPCX RECORD Suite to fully comply with MiFID II consumer protection regulations, due to be enacted in January 2018.

All employees have been issued with Alcatel-Lucent 8028 Premium DeskPhones featuring high-quality audio and additional user features. The new solution improves customer support and internal collaboration, introducing features such as quick directory search and comprehensive contact management. Business operations are safeguarded against downtime in the event of a failure by deploying two identical communication servers to provide maximum availability.
