ALE solutions are powering the BMW International Open 2017 as official Connectivity Partner yet again.
ALE, operating under the brand Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, has teamed up with BMW to become the official Connectivity Partner for the BMW International Open, the longest-running European Tour event in Germany since 1989. ALE will be responsible for implementing the entire IT and communications infrastructure for this year’s Tour Event, which runs from June 22-26 at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof, Cologne.
Germany's premier golf tournament and one of the highlights of the European golfing calender, the BMW International Open, attracts some of the game's greatest stars and over 60,000 sports fans each year. This year, organizers, partners, VIPs, and journalists from around the world, along with the thousands of visitors can stay connected throughout the tournament via secure high speed internet access both on and off the course.
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solutions will support the event, ensuring a personalized connected visitor experience via a full local area network (LAN), wireless LAN, and IP telephony communications platform for the event organizers and the world's media. Seamless connectivity can also be accessed from the club house, public areas, and the course grandstands.
Christian Masanz, Head of BMW Golfsport Marketing “We are very pleased with the partnership of BMW Golfsport and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and welcome this innovative and reliable “Connectivity Partner” for the BMW International Open 2016. Nowadays, connectivity is an absolute necessity at such an event, and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise will help us deliver on that expectation of our visitors.”
Alexandra Biebel, Head of Marketing & Communication, ALE Deutschland “One challenge of implementing a network for a major event such as the BMW International Open is the time-factor. We are essentially creating a 'pop-up' network that is quick and simple to set-up and get running, but one which can also reliably connect tens of thousands of visitors over a large area, and support guest facilities and business operations. We have a great track record of supporting major events around the world, whether at tennis tournaments such as the Copa Claro ATP in Buenos Aires or music events like the Festival Des Vieilles Charrues, our equipment is designed to deliver the latest network technology with minimal disruption.”
