Strasbourg Eurometropolis wanted to upgrade its communications system with a focus on digital efficiency. A key goal was to offer new services, like mobile connectivity, for its 6,700 employees and residents. The city needed to ensure stable and reliable communication for remote and mobile workers. Quickly supporting emergency devices and making it easier to set up, manage and protect smaller networks and equipment were also top priorities.

After a detailed review, and following the advice of their integrator ECS Resadia, Strasbourg Eurometropolis chose Rainbow™ by Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise to upgrade its communications system. Rainbow works seamlessly with their existing OmniPCX Enterprise system and phone directory, making it easier to manage calls and contacts. Installing Rainbow on Citrix servers also allows smooth use on Linux devices, without needing major changes to the IT setup. With Rainbow on their smartphones, staff can call users and partners while showing their official work number. This makes it safer and more practical to use personal devices (BYOD).
- Interoperability: Seamless integration of Rainbow with the existing OmniPCX Enterprise and telephone directory, facilitating call and contact management.
- Compatibility with Citrix: Deployment of Rainbow on Citrix servers, enabling optimal use on Linux terminals without requiring major infrastructure modifications.
- Enhanced mobility: Rainbow on agents' smartphones enables them to contact users and partners and display the corporate number, thus promoting the safe use of personal devices (BYOD).
- Interoperability with Microsoft Teams: Synchronization of presence statuses between Rainbow and Teams, indicates when a user is in a meeting, thus improving management of agent availability.
