Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise wins BayKIT tender

ALE is the only European LAN and WLAN manufacturer to qualify for the BayKIT framework agreement
Kornwestheim, 11.9.2025 – Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a leading European provider of secure network and communication solutions that increase operational efficiency and competitiveness, has won the BayKIT tender. This means that Bavarian municipalities, cities, counties, schools and other public institutions can now access ALE's LAN and WLAN portfolio.
The portfolio meets the strict requirements of European data protection guidelines and German security laws. In collaboration with its partner, Converge Technology Solutions GmbH, ALE will provide these solutions throughout the five-year term of the framework agreement. This makes ALE the only European LAN and WLAN manufacturer to qualify for the BayKIT framework agreement.
The Bavarian Municipal IT Purchasing Cooperative (BayKIT eG) was established in January 2024. Owned by its members, it handles complex and expensive procurement procedures on their behalf. Municipal school authorities, municipalities, markets, cities, counties, districts, municipal associations and administrative communities all benefit from this service.
ALE was selected over several other providers in the public tender. The deciding factors were the favorable price-performance ratio, the durability of the products, and the high security standards. While other providers in the framework agreement supply products from outside Europe, ALE is the only European alternative.
