CGS transforms network to deliver nationwide connectivity

Jakarta, Indonesia, September 1, 2025 – Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a leading provider of secure networking and communication solutions enabling organizations and industries to accelerate operational efficiencies and competitiveness, has successfully implemented a high-performance network transformation for PT Cendikia Global Solusi (CGS), one of Indonesia’s most trusted independent fiber optic infrastructure providers. Leveraging ALE’s advanced Shortest Path Bridging (SPB) technology, the project has delivered near-zero downtime, improved operational efficiency and up to 15% cost savings, ensuring CGS can provide uninterrupted, reliable services to customers across the country.

Founded in 2009, CGS operates over 5,000 kilometers of fiber optic cable across 30 provinces in Indonesia, enabling nationwide connectivity for its backbone, last-mile, backhaul, and local loop services. However, their complex legacy network — built on multiple technologies and protocols — faced scalability limitations, single points of failure and growing performance pressures from increasing network traffic, IoT adoption, 5G rollout and other cloud-based services. To remain competitive and meet evolving customer needs, CGS sought a solution that would simplify network management, enhance reliability and prepare the infrastructure for future growth.

Following a comprehensive demonstration and proof of concept, CGS selected ALE’s SPB-based solution, built on the Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch® 6900 X48 platform, to eliminate downtime risks, improve agility and reduce operational complexity. The deployment provides a future-ready network capable of supporting rapid technological advancements while maintaining cost efficiency.
