ALE’s ESG progress over the past three years

A key player in secure networking and communications, ALE is accelerating its progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Colombes, France, November 13th, 2025 - Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a leading provider of secure networking and communication solutions that enable organizations and industries to accelerate their operational efficiencies and competitiveness, today reveals the measurable progress it has made towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The following progress has been achieved since ALE launched its ESG strategy in January 2023:
Environmental Progress
ALE is developing climate action and circularity through measurable results and science-based targets, namely:
- 20% reduction in total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions since 2022 (validated by the Science Based Targets initiative – SBTi). This is against a target of -42% GHG reduction by 2030 and net zero by 2050
- 27.5% of total energy consumption now sourced from renewables
- 100% of manufacturing suppliers are ISO 14001 certified
- Launch of product Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) by 2025
- €1M in circular economy revenues generated from refurbished products in 2024
These achievements directly support set targets in the following areas:
- SDG 13 – Climate Action
- SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy
- SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
Social Progress
ALE continues to strengthen its social responsibility, inclusivity, and community engagement:
- Employee turnover: 3.3% (below the 6% 2030 target)
- 100% of employees trained every year on ethics, DEI, and professional skills
- “Together for All” program launched globally to foster inclusion and gender balance
- Gender diversity: 20.6% women in the workforce; 18% in management roles
- 30,000 trees planted, 4,024 tons of plastic recycled, and 881 local workdays created in India, Africa, and South America
- Continuous support for NGO partners Mercy Ships and Qhubeka through ALE’s community impact program
These initiatives contribute to goals set around:
- SDG 5 – Gender Equality
- SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
- SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
- SDG 15 – Life on Land
Governance and Innovation Progress
ALE’s governance structure reinforces ethical behavior, transparency, and digital trust:
- Establishment of an ESG Council and Compliance Committee in 2024
- 100% employee completion of anti-corruption and ethics training
- Renewal of key data protection certifications (ISO 27001, HIPAA, ENS, HDS)
- Preparation underway for EU NIS2 Directive compliance
- Integration of sustainability risk management into business decisions
- Supplier Code of Conduct aligned with ISO 20400 and the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code
These actions support:

- SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
- SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals
