About the customer
RGO College in Middelharnis is a comprehensive secondary school in Middelharnis, Netherlands. The school offers education at multiple levels, including gymnasium, atheneum, HAVO and MAVO .
With approximately 1,000 students, RGO College focuses on inspiring education, personal development and thorough preparation for higher education in a modern and future-oriented learning environment.
Actually, we don't have to do any more network maintenance because we haven't encountered any problems since the network was upgraded. That saves us a lot of time.
Challenges
RGO College’s LAN/WLAN network was in need of replacement because the existing infrastructure was outdated, and there were issues with the wireless connections. Various connectivity problems were occurring both in the classrooms and in the auditorium, which led to an increasing number of complaints from staff and students.
Action
The old network has been replaced with OS6360 switches and AP1321 access points for the classrooms and offices, and AP1351 access points for the auditorium where students gather. A total of 104 access points have been installed, all connected to the OS6360 switches. OmniVista Cirrus enables network management from the cloud and the implementation of Network Access Control (NAC) for an additional layer of security.
In accordance with the IBP (Information Security & Privacy) standards framework in the Netherlands, the network has been configured to be fully secure. NAC is used to configure network segmentation, so devices, students and staff are separated from one another on the network and assigned specific profiles, roles and permissions. Digital whiteboards in the classrooms are securely connected to the network using Private Pre-Shared Keys (PPSK).
