Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise’s Advanced Crisis Management for the 2024 Olympic Games wins AI award
Colombes, France – August 8, 2025 – Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a leading provider of secure networking and communication solutions enabling organizations and industries to accelerate their operational efficiencies and competitiveness, is proud to announce that its public safety solutions for crisis management has been recognized at the AI Report Excellences 2025, winning the AI in Public Sector Innovation award. The awards are a Greek initiative promoting best practices and ALE was recognized for its practical application of technology to enhance public safety.
One of the most complex and critical public safety challenges in Europe, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, was successfully managed thanks to the innovative Advanced Crisis Management solution by Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.
The solution was designed, implemented, and activated during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, ensuring effective coordination, immediate response, and most importantly, the prevention of any major security incidents within an exceptionally complex and demanding operational environment.
ALE’s solution managed and connected, in real-time, a vast range of HR and IT infrastructure including:
- Over 55,000 surveillance cameras (in corridors, platforms, and vehicles)
- Over 1,000 security sensors (measuring temperature, air quality, etc.)
- 45,000 police officers and gendarmes
- 18,000 soldiers
- 20,000 private security guards
- 1,750 police officers from 44 countries
- 700 daily metro patrols (7 times the usual number)
- 100 GPSR1 teams (RATP security)
- 9 K92 detection units.
