Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise to present Europe-focused healthcare expertise and dedicated solutions in Berlin
Kornwestheim, April 5 2024 – Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a leading provider of communications, networking and cloud solutions tailored to customers’ industries, will be presenting its digital age solutions for the European healthcare sector at the DMEA trade fair in Berlin from April 9th to 11th, 2024. Experts will be on hand to demonstrate how ALE’s dedicated solutions can support German and other European hospitals and healthcare facilities to achieve compliance with the European Union’s stringent data privacy directives, including the European Health Data Space and the NIS2 Directive. They will also discuss how these solutions can help overcome other industry-specific challenges such as digitalisation, cost pressure, the shortage of skilled workers, and the fast-growing demand for e-health services.
ALE’s expertise and solutions will be discussed during the following talks in the Solution Hub 1, hall 1.2:
- Digital revolution in healthcare: Unleash the full potential with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise” by Stella Iapichino, Director Senior Consultants Network & Communication at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (April 9th, 12:15-12:25).
- The efficient and secure use of healthcare data” by Dr Manfred Zahorka, Senior Manager Integrated Care Models at OptiMedis (April 11th, 10:15-10:25).
In addition, ALE will showcase its innovative Pleeade project that focuses on the secure use, application-oriented processing and targeted evaluation of health data in France. Pleeade is operated as part of a consortium with three other partners: CEA, Hopsiia and Keenturtle. The project aims to establish a cyber-secure data room for decentralised health data and evaluate it with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). ALE contributes its Rainbow™ communication platform to the consortium as well as secure network infrastructure solutions.
The project was created following the launch of the EU’s European Health Data Space (EHDS) that states that all data transmitted by national health authorities will need to be collected in a central location to enable EU citizens to access their data across borders. Doctors, researchers and political decision-makers will also be able to use the anonimised data, but only in closed and secure environments. To protect the data against threats, the new NIS2 Directive also places increased requirements on the cybersecurity of data rooms and has expanded the types of healthcare facilities designated as critical infrastructure (KRITIS).
In addition to showcasing the secure use and evaluation of data at DMEA, ALE will focus on the topic of "Digitalisation in care". Hospitals and care facilities are facing challenges that cannot be overcome without the help of technology as a result of the increasing requirements for the digitalisation of healthcare services, as stipulated in Germany’s Hospital Future Act (KHZG), among other things. ALE offers network and telecommunications solutions with open interfaces that can easily integrate with hospital information systems and meet the requirements of NIS2.
