Desafios

The education sector increasingly uses technology to improve learning results and offer better services to students and faculty. Universities also know content must be always available for students, professors and researchers.

The IT department at Chemistry Institute, UNICAMP (CI-U) could see the network core was unstable and the access obsolete, causing several problems and daily failures. The difficulty to download and upload content to the cloud or even to access local servers had a direct impact in the learning process and research activities.

The objective: create a stable network with high performance to support the existing data traffic, including the WLAN (which is constantly growing). Additionally, it had to support future integration of IP telephony and the use of more IoT devices like smartboards, surveillance cameras, location services and other classroom technologies.
