Corporate social responsibility and sustainability are part of what defines us as a company. We are committed to help make the world a better place.
Our CSR program: ALE Impact
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise takes pride in its commitment to compliance and consistent operations within the principles of the law, as well as adhering to the strictest standards for global environmental protection.
In past years, we launched several initiatives in different parts of the world to benefit local communities. In 2018, we decided to leverage ALE’s strengths to enrich our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities under a single umbrella: The ALE Impact program.
Our fundraising program is employee-led, voluntary and strongly supported by our executive management team. It is grounded in our code of conduct which is the cornerstone of ALE’s business ethics, integrity and compliance commitment, and in the understanding, that to meet our strategic corporate objectives we also need to enhance and serve the communities where employees, partners and customers live and work.
We strengthen our impact by introducing a limited number of global project that will allow us to deploy our core strengths to contribute to a humanitarian cause.
Project selections are reviewed under these criteria:
• Supporting a non-governmental organization (NGO, non-profit, voluntary citizens' group)
• Matching our vertical and/or cloud focus
• Requiring communications and/or networks to meet their own NGO’s objectives
• Having been vetted by the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise legal team
Mercy Ships Overview
Mercy Ships is an international charity which operates a fleet of hospital ships in developing nations since 1978. They work with host nations to improve the local healthcare delivery system while serving the surgical needs of the host country and provide a variety of training opportunities for medical professionals. Mercy Ships is an organization that clearly aligns with ALE’s core expertise: hospitality, healthcare, transportation and education. Communications and networks are key factors for Mercy Ships to deliver their programs and provide the highest level of care to each of their patients and meet the needs of their students while on the ship. Alcatel-Lucent products are already on board.
Over the next 3 years our goal is to raise funds for Mercy Ships to upgrade their International Support Centre (ISC), deploy professional services and ALE solutions to equip their ships with communications equipment to allow them to provide the highest level of care to those they serve.
We are committed to protecting the environment and operating in a way that reduces our impact on the environment.
The ALE Environmental Policy outlines the steps taken to achieve our goals.
We also comply with latest regulations and standards in order to keep your data, networks and information secure, while maintaining our work practices environment-friendly: see more on ALE Standards & Regulatory Compliance
