[PARIS, FRANCE, 6 April 2020] — Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, the global communications solutions provider, has signed on to the Open-Solidarity initiative (#Open_solidarity) started by OVHcloud, a global Cloud provider that delivers services to enterprises worldwide. The partnership will ensure businesses in Europe can access the Cloud-based Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise RainbowTM communications and collaboration platform supported by the OVHcloud infrastructure on which it runs.
Open Solidarity is an open, collective act of mutual support provided through digital technology. This unique initiative was started following the March 9th call to action of Cédric O, the French Secretary of State for Digital, asking digital service providers to offer their services and products for free or at preferential rates to support the healthcare, business and education sectors. By signing up on the Open Solidarity website, European organisations can receive a free licence for 3 months of Rainbow Enterprise, as well as access other services provided by all the Open Solidarity contributors.
“The crisis has the potential to take a serious toll on the European economy and the hundreds of millions of people who depend on it. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is proud to do our part by offering 3 months of free access to our Rainbow platform, which is supported by OVHcloud’s infrastructure”, says Thierry Bonnin, Senior VP Sales Vertical and Strategic partnerships at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, “Open Solidarity is an important and timely initiative. We encourage other companies to join and hope many will be able to benefit.”
The Rainbow platform enables communications between team members via chat, voice and video, and remote teamwork is facilitated though the creation of “bubbles” (workgroups). Thanks to Cloud-based Rainbow, business continuity is secured and individuals can continue working from safe locations while complying with national measures, like social distancing, to fight the spread of COVID-19 and save lives.
"We are faced with an unprecedented situation and it is critical for everyone to lend a hand. The Open Solidarity initiative is our way of contributing to this collective momentum. We have mobilised to provide resources, free of charge and without commitment, to support the European community. Rainbow is an excellent solution and we are delighted to see it join, " says Michel Paulin, CEO of OVHcloud.
