Five OmniSwitch models obtain JITC certification

US Department of Defense Information Network certifies Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise switches
Thousand Oaks, California, USA, May 21 2024 – Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a leading provider of communications, networking and cloud solutions tailored to customers’ industries, has announced that five switches from its OmniSwitch® range have received certification by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) – for interoperability in the US Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN).
JITC is a United States certification recognised by many other countries for its rigorous testing and evaluation process. The JITC approval process includes:
- An assessment to ensure the latest IEEE standards are implemented
- A cybersecurity review to verify the products meet stringent security requirements for DoD networking products
- Live testing in the JITC Lab to check if the products meet DoD switching requirements for Layer2 and Layer3 networking
- Interoperability testing between products from multiple network vendors
