
Stadt Herrenberg offers better citizen services with Rainbow

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise optimises Stadt Herrenberg’s internal communications and citizen services with cloud-based communication platform Rainbow

The innovative city administration of Stadt Herrenberg in southern Germany wanted to simplify the daily work of its 350 employees with modern collaboration services such as chat, video conferencing, presence information, screen and file sharing.
An important aspect was the ability to include citizen access as required and without great effort, thus continuously enhancing the city administration's digital services while providing simple, straightforward communications with citizens.
Herrenberg implemented the Rainbow cloud service, which seamlessly expanded the existing telephony solution with comprehensive collaboration features. The user friendliness, fast implementation and flexible pricing models helped convince the city this was the right solution for them.
Due to its intuitive interface and ease of use, Rainbow required no prior experience or training, which increased user acceptance significantly and resulted in Rainbow being used intensively from the start.
“Rainbow quickly became an integral part of our work. Internally, we do most things via chat and telephony over Rainbow, and we use video calls for our department meetings. This enabled us to work seamlessly from home during the pandemic,” says Alexander Stoll, Project Manager at the city of Herrenberg.
In addition to internal collaboration, Rainbow will also optimise Herrenberg’s communication with its citizens. From click-to-chat to video calls, the scalable cloud solution offers a comprehensive range of functions that will help the city administration to further expand its citizen services. “We want to use all of the technical and organisational opportunities available to meet the performance expectations of our citizens and to create flexibility in how our teams work,” explains Alexander Stoll.
