Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise enhances Rainbow CTI & Media Bridge

The third-party PBX connector update to the cloud-based Rainbow will deliver seamless connectivity between telephony systems and collaboration platforms
Paris, France, November 25, 2021- Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a leading provider of communications, networking and cloud solutions tailored to customers’ industries, has announced additional functionalities for Rainbow CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) and Media Bridge, the third-party PBX connector in its cloud-based Rainbow platform. Support is added for Voice over IP softphone (computer mode) as well as the capability to monitor a desk phone via CTI (desk phone mode) with more third-party PBXs, such as Unify, from other vendors.
The enhanced offer delivers the freedom for even more users to leverage existing investments on their path to the cloud. Users are now more mobile and can take advantage of Rainbow mobility anywhere using their computers and mobile devices, while staying connected to their existing PBX.
By connecting PBXs, Rainbow users can unlock numerous functionalities thanks to the link between telephony systems and the Rainbow collaboration platform. This includes:
- Making and receiving calls from anywhere using Rainbow application in Voice over IP with their PBX Business number and public phone numbers
- Controlling and monitoring their desk phone from the Rainbow application on computers and mobile devices
- Seeing when someone is on the phone thanks to phone presence
- Displaying the number and name of the calling party
- Searching for a user in the PBX phone book and initiating a call
