Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise unveils an enhanced version of its network community website
Paris, France, March 5, 2024 - Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a leading provider of communications, networking and cloud solutions tailored to customers’ industries, has recently released an improved version of Spacewalkers.com, its technical network community website.
Launched six years ago, Spacewalkers is a dedicated space where ALE network users can connect, engage, and collaborate with their peers on technical networking subjects. At the heart of Spacewalkers sits the forum where members can ask and answer questions. A vast array of technical resources, such as datasheets, Microsoft Visio stencils (diagrams), demo videos, solution guides and much more, is also available on the platform, as is ALE’s latest network news and blog posts written by technical subject matter experts. Access to Spacewalkers is free (login required).
The website now offers enhanced capabilities to deliver an improved member journey, as well as a refreshed look and feel.
The new platform Spacewalkers has migrated to offer advanced features to further enable collaboration, innovation and knowledge-sharing within the community. These features include:
- New badges for member profiles: a visual representation of user achievements, contributions, or status level.
- Forum:
- Advanced notifications: more granularity and options for users to receive email notifications on focused topics.
- Smart search features: expedited searches on specific topics.
- Advanced filtering in the technical resources library: users can filter by topic, by language or by document type.
- Private groups: ability to exchange with peers in a restricted and exclusive space on a focused topic.
- Polls to the community: option to raise questions with single or multiple-choice answers within a forum group.
The website also offers a Developer Centre section with API reference documentation for developers to explore and understand the capabilities of ALE APIs for Alcatel-Lucent OmniVista® Cirrus and Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess® Stellar Asset tracking. To foster interoperability with network ecosystem solutions, additional integration capabilities and APIs will be shared as they become available.
ALE strengthened its engagement to the technical community in 2023 by hosting the first Spacewalkers Tech Days at its headquarters in France. This in-person event was highly appreciated by customers and key partners who came from all over the world to attend two days of sessions. The initiative will be repeated in 2024, with Spacewalkers Tech Days sessions taking place in multiple locations.
