The new work world is bringing the need for data sovereignty and security to the forefront, as businesses move to the cloud to enable people to work everywhere and anywhere.

How companies and consumers connect has changed dramatically over the last year – with compliancy and security considerations gaining considerable importance. As the world continues to shift to the cloud in this new work world, we are being tasked with delivering better data sovereignty and security. It’s not enough to simply have the right technology – companies need to ensure that their data is secure and that privacy rules and regulations are respected.

While compliancy and security have always been important, they have become increasingly so, in this time, where employees work in remote and distributed environments. Any company that has access to customer data must ensure they can protect and preserve that data – and sometimes that means keeping the data close to home.

Regulations and certifications are at the top of mind for most business leaders’ and must be taken into account when considering new technology. At Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, we are providing the highest level of regulatory compliance with GDPR, and HDS certification, ISO 270001, as well as CSPN and other certifications in progress. As well, as a European-based company, ALE is not bound by the Cloud or Patriot Acts, and is the only non-US vendor to appear in the UCaaS Gartner Magic Quadrant.

Flexibility and compliancy built-in

The Rainbow™ by Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solution combines Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) and comprehensive Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) functionality, with a way to fully protect and respect user data and privacy.

Our partnership with OVHcloud, a trusted provider of open cloud solutions, sets us apart. Rainbow services are delivered through a worldwide infrastructure, with public cloud access through our OVH data centre in Europe. Private cloud support is available through Rainbow Edge, which allows end-customers to use their preferred data centre. We also offer solutions for hybrid architectures to connect any PBX to Rainbow.

To-date, Rainbow has more than 2 million users globally, across a variety of industries. Banks and government groups have invested in Rainbow, as well as the transportation industry where we have delivered Rainbow onto a broad range of ships.

Rainbow goes beyond regular UCaaS services, providing the capabilities to integrate real-time communications and collaboration services into customers’ apps using our open CPaaS platform and APIs. And, we have a community of more than 2,000 developers to help innovate services.

In addition to UCaaS, Rainbow also supports CPaaS technology, enabling users to build in their own functionality and features to meet their business needs. The unique workflow engine within Rainbow also helps connect all parts of the business, from people and processes, to objects and things.

Rainbow offers customers complete control over their data, and we’re seeing a very positive response to that. The ability to provide a flexible and compliant environment in Europe is a huge differentiator for us. We are providing customers with the right kind of deployment and compliance options they need to securely operate their businesses.

We are excited about helping to pave a path to simplification and control for companies who need to ensure that they’re adhering to compliance and regulatory requirements in this new work world. It’s time for businesses to have the innovative features and functionality they need without compromising on security, privacy, or data sovereignty.
